About Us

The History of Cook Group

Introduction

Cook (Damp & Decay) Ltd was the founding company of the Cook Group. This was formed in 1974 as a limited company specialising in curing all dampness and timber decay/infestation problems.

In the 36 years that we have been trading, we have developed our skills and have become leaders in all aspects of building preservation, basement conversions, Structural waterproofing, maintenance, structural repairs using the Thor Helical masonry repair system, condensation control, mould removal & mould control incorporating domestic ventilation systems such as the Nuaire Drimaster range.

We at the Cook Group are truly a family business; Dave Cook has been the managing director since 1997 (succeeding Ted Cook the founder), His sister (company secretary) and wife run the office and administration.  All our surveyors are fully qualified holding the nationally recognised C.S.R.T qualification (Certificated Surveyor in Remedial Treatments) and the C.S.S.W qualification (Certificated Surveyor in Structural Waterproofing) thus ensuring that our surveys and advice will be of the highest standard.  We are long standing members of the Property Care Association (P.C.A) (formerly  the B.W.P.D.A.), the Association of Accredited Wykamol Users (A.A.W.U) and the Federation of Master builders.

All of our damp proofing and timber treatments are fully guaranteed by ourselves for 20 years, with the option of an insured back up guarantee, this valuable additional cover is available for a small once only payment.

Membership of both the P.C.A and A.A.W.U are controlled by strict criteria.

Membership of both organisations are subject to a thorough vetting procedure, which ranges from good working and surveying practices, to office administration.

We are bound to the strict and ethical code of practice for both organisations (available on request).

We are inspected and assessed by both organisations on a regular basis.
