Environmental Statement

At Cook Group we take the environmental consequences of our work as seriously as the work itself. Throughout our business, we employ an Environmental Policy that continuously monitors everything, from our stationery to our vehicle fleet.

Chemicals for treatments

We use Aquatech products from Wykamol for our timber treatments. These are sent in dissolvable packs to help us keep waste to a minimum.

The electro-osmotic damp-proofing system we use is completely chemical free.

Our damp-proofing cream is supplied in large tubs to keep the amount of waste containers down to an absolute minimum.

All plastic containers are made of biodegradable plastic.

Paper & Cardboard

Our paper is recycled wherever possible through the local authority blue bin scheme. Cardboard is seperated at our premises & recycled via Transwaste ltd

Vehicles

All of our vehicles run on diesel. The majority of our vehicles are the Mercedes Vito, and Ford Transit, both of which have an excellent record of low emission levels. We are also currently trialling other ways to further reduce emissions.

Building Waste

Work-related waste is removed via Transwaste Ltd, which has the international environmental ISO 14001 registration.

Transwate ltd recylce OVER 90% of the waste they collect. view their website HERE

Timber waste is shredded and taken to composting farms where it is turned into compost and returned to the land. Sound timber waste is recycled into wood sheet products

Brick, plaster and concrete waste is fed through a crusher and turned into a hardcore capping material and reused within the construction industry.

Scrap metal is separated and reintroduced into the steel industry.

New Timber

When we lay a new floor or fit new skirting boards, you can be assured that all the timber we use has come from a sustainable source. i.e. new trees are planted to replace the ones that have been cut down
